EMR Apps Taking Off, Starting with Refill Requests

EMRs can be a platform for a multitude of healthcare apps, much as personal phone apps now get built on Apple's iOS or Google's Android platform. Healthfinch's refill management app offloads a time-consuming task from physicians.

I agree EMR apps will become very popular. In addition to serving the patient, we offer apps for the physician to use, which then connect them back into their EMR. For example, we offer a 7-second charge capture app which removes the headache of getting back the facesheet from the hospital. We make the hospital rounding list accessible on the physician's mobile device so the moment there is an admit/discharge/consult, the physician can find that out and enter charges.
