Are There Simple Answers to Telehealth Questions?

This week CMS lowered one of the biggest barriers to telehealth when it implemented a new credentialing and privileging processfor physicians and practitioners who provide telemedicine services. The problem is that there are still many open questions about telehealth.

I agree that this will reduce the burden on small hospitals and that there are still many issues to address; however, this is not the brainchild of CMS. I think recognition is due to the groups who pushed this process into reality. The government wouldn't have come up with this "simple and elegant answer" without input and insight from organizations like NAMSS, TJC, and AMA, to name a few.
