Medication Lapses Put Discharged Patients at Risk
Hospitalized patients are at greater risk for having their chronic condition medications unintentionally discontinued rather than restored at discharge, according to a report published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. A healthcare advocacy group wants the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to require generic drug manufacturers to be able to update warning labels when notified of new side effects.
