Grady cuts were about 'culture' as well as costs
Grady Memorial Hospital announced last month that it was laying off 140 employees, which will save $6.8 million. But saving money wasn't the only reason for staff cuts. The layoffs include several top managers and directors and are part of a larger goal to revamp the organization's culture, which has been described by critics as lax and inefficient.
