Glass fragments found in soup at Kaiser

San Francisco Chronicle, February 19, 2010
Four patients at Kaiser Permanente hospitals in Northern California found glass fragments in their chicken noodle soup last week, the result of an unreported accident at the food supplier, company officials said. Kaiser said it is writing to about 1,400 patients who ordered the soup that day in its 21 hospitals to inform them of "this unusual and very low-risk occurrence." No patients reported ill effects after the Feb. 10 incident, Kaiser and the supplier, FoodService Partners, said in separate statements.
