Blood infections plague TN hospitals

Bacterial blood infections in Tennessee hospitals' most ill patients were 20% higher in 2008 than the national average. The findings are part of the first-ever report since Tennessee's hospitals began to actively monitor, collect, and relay data to the state on how many bloodstream infections in people with central lines were appearing in intensive care units.
