Universal Health Care sale hits a potential speed bump

Tampa Bay Business Journal, March 5, 2013
Tampa area business leaders Don DeFosset and Al Austin have asked a bankruptcy court judge to appoint an examiner in the Universal Health Care Group Inc. bankruptcy case. Appointing an examiner would serve the best interest of creditors and equity security holders, their attorney, Jeffrey Warren of Bush Ross PA, said in a filing asking the bankruptcy court to hold an emergency hearing on the motion. It's unclear what impact the motion might have on the planned sale of Universal Health Care, a St. Petersburg-based holding company for several health insurance providers, to Care Point Insurance Co., a New Jersey firm that was the winning bidder in a bankruptcy court auction.
