Florida hospitals name new CEOs

Miami Herald, January 15, 2010

Javier Hernandez-Lichtl, CEO of South Miami Hospital, has been named chief executive of Baptist Health's new West Kendall hospital, set to open in early 2011. Hernandez-Lichtl's departure triggered a string of moves among Baptist's executive ranks: Lincoln Mendez, CEO of Doctors Hospital, will take Hernandez-Lichtl's job at South Miami. Nelson Lazo, head of Mariners Hospital in Tavernier, will take over for Mendez at Doctors. And Rick Freeburg, chief operating officer at South Miami, will replace Lazo at Mariners, the Miami Herald reports.
