2008 National Survey on Patient Flow Challenges and Technologies

StatCom, October 20, 2008

StatCom's 2008 survey was designed to capture the thoughts and opinions of U.S. healthcare executives, including C-level executives, vice presidents and directors, regarding patent flow and technology issues at their facilities. Among the more than 200 healthcare executives responding, the overwhelming majority (89 percent) say their facility has poor patient flow, and indicate the leading cause is poor communication. Despite that significant number, only 56 percent of healthcare facilities have implemented patient flow systems.
