Third WI medical college studied by Aspirus Wausau

GreenBay Press Gazette, December 2, 2011
A proposal to create Wisconsin's third medical school in Wausau could bring hundreds of students and faculty members to the city and help address a projected shortage of doctors across the state. Officials from Aspirus Wausau Hospital and the Wisconsin College of Osteopathic Medicine said Wednesday that they expect to complete a feasibility study in the next four months on establishing a $70 million to $75 million medical school in Wausau. The school could annually enroll 400 to 600 students seeking to become primary care physicians and employ more than 100 faculty and support staff members.
