Syracuse hospital says it may be sued over patient slapping

Syracuse.com, April 30, 2014
St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center says it may be sued by patients who claim they were mistreated by a surgeon accused of "patient abuse" and "workplace violence" in its operating room. The hospital also says the inappropriate behavior may have gone on since April 2012 when the doctor started practicing there. St. Joe's disclosed that information in a prospectus filed April 24 in connection with the sale of $68 million in bonds to raise money to pay for a new power plant and an electronic health records system. The bonds are rated below investment grade, or "junk bonds," by Moody's and Standard & Poor's credit rating agencies.
