LIMRA, NADP see DPPOs surging
Dental preferred provider organizations (DPPO) are increasingly the plan of choice for employers. But that rise hasn't translated into a bigger dental benefits market. Rather, it's come at the expense of other types of plans, particularly indemnity plans.
LIMRA International of Windsor, CT, and the Dallas-based National Association of Dental Plans (NADP) report in their U.S. Group Dental Plans Third Quarter Review 2006 that indemnity and dental health maintenance organizations (DHMO) are losing ground-in some instances, in double-digit increments.
