Pressure for pricing transparency intensifies

Hospitals are feeling growing pressure from patients, the government, and payers to publish pricing and validate quality and value. The push for transparency is powered in part by the rise in health savings accounts and the number of employers who are asking employees to pay higher premiums and copays. Dazley, managing director at Phase 2 Consulting in Salt Lake City, said during the recent audioconference "Pricing Transparency: Strategies to identify true cost and remain competitive in a consumer-driven market."
