The holidays are upon you, and the increase in staff time-off requests and patient flow can make you feel more like going mad than being merry. Don't fret-there are ways that you can compromise to meet the needs of both your patients and staff.
First, make sure that your holiday and vacation policy is up to date and well known to every employee. Your policy should detail the exact amount of holiday and vacation time that each employee is allotted, as well as your holiday time policy, says Ken Kruger, president of Healthcare Human Resources Consulting Consortium, in New York.
