Detect doc dissatisfaction with comp plan questionnaire

Concern about finances is the number one reason physicians leave group practices, says Reed Tinsley, CPA, a Houston-based practice consultant. But physicians who are frustrated with their current compensation formula often keep dissatisfaction brewing below the surface. Early detection can prevent minor grievances from escalating into serious problems or leading to high turnover, he says. "If there are issues with the physician compensation formula, it is critically important [that] you make sure they’re discussed and addressed without someone blowing up and threatening to leave if the situation isn’t changed," Tinsley says.
