Bridging the disparity gap
More and more studies suggest that minorities face barriers to wellness, resulting in higher levels of chronic illnesses and mortality rates, as well as lower quality of care than white Americans.
The reasons for the barriers are often debated, but it is clear that overcoming these challenges in healthcare will only become more critical: The Census Bureau predicts that half of Americans will be a member of a racial or ethnic minority group by 2050.
