The aphorism "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" is so shopworn it's surprising it hasn't been relegated to the aisles of some linguistic 99 cent store. Yet for dental plans, it holds all the sheen and prestige of the latest gadget from Apple. eedless to say, the insurers are all lining up to get a version of their own.
In September, Delta Dental unveiled a product called "The D&P Maximum Waiver." It allows enrollees to opt into a plan that does not count routine care against their annual maximum, which Delta officials say averages $1,200-$1,500 nationwide.
