Capitated groups improve revenues, but expenses grow
Physician groups are under terrific pressure to deliver high-quality patient care in an increasingly competitive and regulated environment. According to findings from the American Medical Group Association's (AMGA) 2007 Medical Group Compensation & Financial Survey, most specialties struggled to achieve that balance profitably during 2006.
AMGA's 2007 survey is based on data submitted by 222 medical groups from across the United States representing 43,293 providers, for an average of 195 providers per respondent.
