Jackson Health System leaders pressed over financial reporting

Miami Herald, March 29, 2010

In the first group meeting after a "management watch" agreement was signed, Miami-Dade County Manager George Burgess pressured Jackson Health System leaders for faster, more detailed reporting of its financial situation. In another development, Jackson and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees announced an agreement similar to the one reached earlier with the Service Employees International Union: Employees will contribute 5% of base wages toward their health insurance premiums and give up pay increases for the next year. Their pay hikes will be reinstated in July 2011, the Miami Herald reports.
