Lax Rules for Medical Residents an 'Abuse of Trust'



The Institute of Medicine rules for residency training that took effect on July 1 "stop considerably short" of patient safety best practices and "amount to an abuse of patient trust," says the co-author of a Harvard report that calls on residency program directors to install additional safeguards.
